One thing that has been incredible to me is that my article-generated subscribers buy a lot more from me than subscribers generated from most other sources. I have brainstormed this concept a lot, because I generally look for the why in things. So my natural instinct is to figure out why. Why do the buy more from me.
And here is what I have come up with. Let me know what you think.
My theory is this - it the theory of relationship in email marketing. You see, one of the most important things we do when we build an email list is the relationship we build with our subscribers.
Most recent records:
So normally when someone comes to you from an ad, they get on your list, and you begin building the relationship with them, by sending them content and growing your communication. But you have started out at square zero. You have to cultivate and build the entire relationship.
But think about this. If they come to you via an article, not only are they qualifying themselves by reading your article on a topic that matters to them, but they are clicking through because they want more information from you. They already like you - you don't have to create that relationship, it is already there. All you have to do is grow that relationship.
So once they get on your list, you can start to sell them faster, they will by from you sooner, and they will like you faster. They already respect you, they already want more info from you. You just have to keep it up.
